The ESLAND conference, hold in Sassari on 11-13 October 2012, aimed to facilitate discussion on European island landscapes and cultural heritage, bringing together leading academics, scientists and policy makers. Innovative research methods on landscape history, characterisation, identity and scenario of European islands have been addressed, together with the work of the ESLAND Project, European Culture expressed in Island Landscapes, and of other European studies on the subject.
